VIPs Attend DC Dinner
HOUSE DEMOCRATIC LEADER NANCY PELOSI was a VIP guest and speaker at the May 2 Foundation
Fighting Blindness “For the Love of Sight Dinner” in Washington, DC. In her remarks, Pelosi called the
Foundation, “resilient, entrepreneurial, and enterprising in its search for cures.” The dinner, now in its 15th year,
has raised more than $6 million to help advance the research on cures for inherited retinal diseases.
Other VIPs attending the dinner included Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson and
Candy Carson and Representative Pete Sessions (R-TX). The evening’s emcee was NBC News correspondent
Peter Alexander. D.C. Circuit Judge David Tatel and Dr. Edith Tatel received FFB's Visionary Award.
